Taking Him At His Word

The journey continues.

I consider anger and fear as some of the worst ‘emotions’ (for lack of a better word) for any relationship.

Marriages are broken because of either anger or fears, parent-child relationships are destroyed because of either anger or fear, and your relationship with your boss can be destroyed because of either anger or fear. Think about any relationship, you will realise that anger or fear sticks its head up like a sore thumb; as a problem.

One of those things you teach yourself as you continue in your spiritual journey is to take God at His word. I decided to delve into what scripture says about fear, what the Lord promises me despite of fear and well sometimes it is sure hard but the challenge here is no matter how hard it gets, take Him at His word and recite these verses over and over again when you feel overwhelmed.

I will zero in on six life changing verses. You have probably heard them, you probably say them over again, today I want to ask you to prayerfully internalise them and recite them over and over again.

Isaiah 43:1 But now this is what the Lord says, He who created you Jacob, he who formed you Israel; ‘Do not fear for I have redeemed you I have summoned you by my name, you are mine
This verse literally blew me away hehe in a good way, I am His, You are His, He has redeemed you and you are His. Just hold it and let that sink in. Do not fear, you are His

Matthew 10:31- Fear ye not therefore ye are of more value than many sparrows

Luke 12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore ye are of more value than many sparrow.

Of more value than sparrows and yet he takes care of the sparrow so well how much more will He do that for You?

2nd Timothy-For God hath not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of sound mind

The fact that, that spirit doesn’t come from the Lord reveals to us who is messing up with you and who is making you. And you know what He isn’t planning on stopping if you keep allowing him.

Hebrews 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper and I will not fear what shall man do to me?

1st John 4:18-There is no fear in love but perfect love casteth out fear because fear hath torment

Let’s go through some more ‘thus says the Lord on the next post’. Meanwhile hold on to these ones, recite it over and over again, and believe it.

Most importantly Take Him at His word-It is about time you did

  1. I will definitely take him at his word. This is a good reminder for us to trust God completely.
